Binge eating disorder episode typically lasts until two hours. It’s very common for them to look very hard struggling with feelings of guilt, disgust, and depression. The therapist will help them improving their communication skills and maintain good relationships with their acquaintances. As they learn how to relate better to others, they would get an emotional support. With this, the compulsion to binge can be reduced easier.
  • Dialectical behavior therapy –this binge eating disorder therapy combines cognitive-behavioral techniques with several meditation and exercises techniques. This therapy aims at teaching binge eaters how to accept themselves as well as tolerate stress better and how to control their emotions. The therapist will also address unhealthy attitudes that can be about eating, shape, and weight.

It is wise if people can manage the disorder by themselves. They can have several strategies for overcoming the binge eating disorder. Besides having therapy, they can also mix an healthy lifestyles, as follows:

  1. 1. Managing stress. People with binge eating disorder should find alternate ways to handle stress without using food. Instead of eating unhealthy food, they can do exercising, meditating, and practicing simple breathing exercises.
  2. 2. Listen to the body. They should learn how to distinguish between physical and emotional hunger. Give the craving time to pass.
  3. 3. Fight boredom. People with binge disorder eating should distract themselves from taking unhealthy snacks. Instead of that, they can take a walk. They can also manage of calling a friend, reading, or doing other hobbies.

However, the most important thing to avoid binge eating disorder is by having meals 3 times a day plus healthy snacks and start to clear the fridge and cupboards, and throw away the favorite binge foods.
